New Year, New Side Stage
Did you read the ‘Future of Side Stage Collective’ article? Were you wondering what the hell does she mean by ‘Side Stage Collective is still alive’ ?
Well at the time I didn’t really know what I meant by that. The girls and I sat down in front of our laptops and discussed the past, the present and most importantly, the future.
It was evident the present is not enough to lead to a bright future. Do you know when you go through a challenging time of your time and you just feel like changing something in you? You go for a new haircut (*cough* me *cough*) or a tattoo (*cough* me *cough*) well that was what we decided to do. New Year, New Side Stage Collective.
A new website was long wished, having the perfect platform where you would satisfy the reader and give the best user experience is the hardest task - when it comes to working in digital media. So welcome to the first taste of the website. We will have more news about this (and maybe the full version ;) ) soon.
As mentioned previously, hair is obviously something we tend to change quite often. Being an adult involves dealing with a couple of life crisis through the year, so this is not something we can control ourselves. We wanted something fresh that would match our growth and what Side Stage has become. I shared this dilemma with my colleague (and moral supporter) Antonas, who was the best person to help us out. He spent some time gathering some information and references and couldn’t be happier to have such great human beings involved in the making of the new Side Stage Collective.
For the content, we have our great collaborators Gonçalo, Carlota and Esmée writing/drawing about what they know best. A guest Madalina, sharing about her London nights – when we used to live together. And the Side Stage girls focusing in our three main categories: Backstage, Offstage and Onstage. A huge thank you to my favourite Scottish partner, Fiona, who kindly proofread everything. We’re super excited to share this year with you and for that reason we decided to open a Patreon : where you will be able to support us. And also an Open Call to new collaborators: if you’re a writer, photographer, videographer, illustrator, a human, or not, send us an e-mail. We want to know what you have to share with us!
