Hard Club was filled that night. Thursday, the 23rd of May Toro Y Moi was ready to conquer the ears of na excited audience, eager to dance the night away.

Toro Y Moi, also known as Chaz Bear and company has been a very well known name around the cool music scene, and when it comes to musical pleasing of the senses him and his band are amazing.

The thing is, you can love what you do but you also need to share some of it with the audience. Chaz is all about feeling the sounds however when it comes to stage presence there is a lack of sentimento there, everything is lighthearted even though some of the themes of the songs aren´t that light.

Shutting eyes while walking around on stage might just show the audience you are just attempting to be competent in what you do. The music is absolutely fresh, danceable, and funky af. However there is Wall between the lead singer and the audience. That is the one repair I feel I should do, because everything else was impecable.

“Ordinary Pleasure” was sung along with everyone in that room and “Freelance” was even sung twice! Such nice summer songs. The thing is, even with the audience giving everything there was no return of the love from the band or the lead.

If anything the gig was ok. It was almost as clear as the recording – but that’s not a fan expects when they go and see a show. That’s a bit of a problem. I know I should change subject, however that is something that really bothers me as a fan of music in general. I love music performed live, but the disconnection here was too intense. Everything felt like a chore.

Despite the musically talented people onstage and the intense audience – the gig felt a bit short of satisfactory, what is a shame because the music is absolutely great.

Just a thought.
